Alma Mahler welcomes you The composition house in Carbonin Vecchia reopens its doors in the summer months....with a very special hostess Anyone who cultivates a passion for culture and music knows that Dobbiaco holds a treasure trove. Lying on a meadow overlooking the village and the entire valley, close to the forest towards Pian di Maia, is a small, simple wooden building. The building at first glance appears very modest, but stands proud and aware of its incredible significance and history. Between those planks, in fact, the famous Bohemian composer Gustav Mahler, accompanied by his beloved Alma, between the summers of 1908 and 1910, found peace and inspiration to compose some of his most beautiful and important symphonies, among them 'Das Lied von der Erde' (The Song of the Earth). After careful restoration, the composition house at the Trenkerhof finally reopens its doors to all those who want to breathe in the history and atmosphere of the Belle Epoque. During the summer months of July and August, every Wednesday and every Friday from 3 to 5 p.m., in collaboration with the Santer Family, owner of the cultural asset, every visitor will have the chance to step back in time and breathe in the magic of those places and the surrounding nature. They will be welcomed by a very special hostess... Alma, the composer's beloved companion until her death in 1911, herself an eclectic and important figure in the history of world culture, who will make the visit even more special with stories and anecdotes. Admission to the park and the composition house is free of charge. On-site parking is available, but only in combination with a visit to the Wildlife Park. How is a bee colony organised? How is honey made? Why are these industrious, seemingly never-tiring insects so important to us? Our beekeeper will accompany you to the apiary (20-minute walk). Equipped with protective beekeeping clothing, you will have the opportunity to observe a bee colony and learn more about the creation and production of honey. An exciting insight for young and old!

From August 2 to 24, 2025, Mitterolang becomes an open-air art gallery. The Italian street artist Omar Allievi, known under his artist name Cage and a long-time guest of our village, will create a new artwork on the façade of the old municipal building. At the heart of the project is a large existing banner depicting the Hochalpensee lake. Rather than replacing it, Omar will creatively upcycle the material, using it as a base for a new artistic composition. This approach fosters a unique dialogue between photography and street art, between natural imagery and urban creativity. Visitors and locals are invited to witness the artistic process live. On odd-numbered days, Omar will work onsite from 9:30–11:30 a.m. and 4:30–6:30 p.m., welcoming curious onlookers to observe, interact, and gain insights into his work. Born in Milan in 1979, Omar is both an artist and a professional chef. His creative journey began with writing and evolved into a style focused on letterforms and geometry. He has exhibited at prestigious venues such as the Triennale di Milano and worked on numerous commissioned projects across Italy. During the pandemic, he found a new artistic voice that merges his two passions – art and cuisine. For Omar, Valdaora has been a source of inspiration for over a decade. Now, he returns to leave a visible, meaningful and sustainable artistic footprint in the heart of the village.

Eleven farmers sell every Friday their own products: vegetables, fruits, jams, bread, eggs, meat and cheese in the center of Bruneck.

Together with our mountain guide Manuel we will start our crossing of the Prags Dolomites from the Brunst Alp. After two hours of hiking we will reach the start of the fixed rope route, where Manuel will give us a short introduction to the equipment. As soon as the climbing harness is properly fastened and the helmet is on, we will start our adventure. After a breathtaking, beautiful climb of difficulty level A (easy) we will reach the exit. If time permits, we will climb up to the summit cross at the Hochalpenkopf and enjoy the spectacular panorama in the middle of the Dolomites, with views of the Prags Dolomites, the Rieserferner and the Zillertal Alps. After a short rest we will descend step by step to the Pragser Wildsee Lake and let the day end comfortably.We will return to Olang by bus and by train and we will look up to the mastered summit with amazement. The hike then continues across the Schmiedelwiesen to the Wildbad and its various water sources. Alma Mahler welcomes you The composition house in Carbonin Vecchia reopens its doors in the summer months....with a very special hostess Anyone who cultivates a passion for culture and music knows that Dobbiaco holds a treasure trove. Lying on a meadow overlooking the village and the entire valley, close to the forest towards Pian di Maia, is a small, simple wooden building. The building at first glance appears very modest, but stands proud and aware of its incredible significance and history. Between those planks, in fact, the famous Bohemian composer Gustav Mahler, accompanied by his beloved Alma, between the summers of 1908 and 1910, found peace and inspiration to compose some of his most beautiful and important symphonies, among them 'Das Lied von der Erde' (The Song of the Earth). After careful restoration, the composition house at the Trenkerhof finally reopens its doors to all those who want to breathe in the history and atmosphere of the Belle Epoque. During the summer months of July and August, every Wednesday and every Friday from 3 to 5 p.m., in collaboration with the Santer Family, owner of the cultural asset, every visitor will have the chance to step back in time and breathe in the magic of those places and the surrounding nature. They will be welcomed by a very special hostess... Alma, the composer's beloved companion until her death in 1911, herself an eclectic and important figure in the history of world culture, who will make the visit even more special with stories and anecdotes. Admission to the park and the composition house is free of charge. On-site parking is available, but only in combination with a visit to the Wildlife Park. In case of bad weather the visit will be cancelled.

From August 2 to 24, 2025, Mitterolang becomes an open-air art gallery. The Italian street artist Omar Allievi, known under his artist name Cage and a long-time guest of our village, will create a new artwork on the façade of the old municipal building. At the heart of the project is a large existing banner depicting the Hochalpensee lake. Rather than replacing it, Omar will creatively upcycle the material, using it as a base for a new artistic composition. This approach fosters a unique dialogue between photography and street art, between natural imagery and urban creativity. Visitors and locals are invited to witness the artistic process live. On odd-numbered days, Omar will work onsite from 9:30–11:30 a.m. and 4:30–6:30 p.m., welcoming curious onlookers to observe, interact, and gain insights into his work. Born in Milan in 1979, Omar is both an artist and a professional chef. His creative journey began with writing and evolved into a style focused on letterforms and geometry. He has exhibited at prestigious venues such as the Triennale di Milano and worked on numerous commissioned projects across Italy. During the pandemic, he found a new artistic voice that merges his two passions – art and cuisine. For Omar, Valdaora has been a source of inspiration for over a decade. Now, he returns to leave a visible, meaningful and sustainable artistic footprint in the heart of the village.

Exclusive shuttle Three Peaks - experience the Dolomites highlight gently We start with the shuttle in the Braies Valley and drive to the Auronzohütte hut (2330m).
