The route leads to the historic Monte Castello, first passing through impressive World War I tunnels before continuing on a well-secured via ferrata to the summit. Curiosities and a lot of used items at the flea market in the NOBIS Event Centre. The proceeds will benefit the volunteer organization "Hope for a Better Tomorrow" by Petra Theiner, which supports various projects with street children in India.

We start at the Outdoor Center in Reischach and drive above the Rienz Gorge to Olang. From there we take the panoramic path to the forest road that leads us to the Lanzwiese Alm at 1823m. The Lanzwiese is an ideal excursion destination - traditional farmhouse cuisine - unique view of the Olang mountains. After an extensive rest with food and drink we return to Reischach to the starting point. Gustav Mahler Music Weeks Toblach 2026 The 45th Gustav Mahler Music Weeks will take place in Toblach from 11 July to 5 September 2026 under the theme “The Beginning.” Alongside long-standing Artistic Director Josef Lanz, Dirk Kaftan will shape the festival programme for the first time. Highlights include concerts by the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, and the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento, as well as performances by promising young international artists. The programme is complemented by lectures, a symposium, the traditional hike to Gustav Mahler’s composing hut, and special encounters with guests such as Massimo Cacciari and Reinhold Messner. The concerts take place in the Gustav Mahler Hall of the Grand Hotel Cultural Centre Toblach, surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the Dolomites. Gustav Mahler’s Seventh Symphony is like a musical journey from dusk into the bright light of day. A sombre call from the tenor horn and a restless march open the work, leading to the first of two mysterious 'Nachtmusiken'. A ghostly scherzo flickers in between, before the symphony culminates in a brilliant finale. The German State Philharmonic of Rhineland-Palatinate performs, having gained international acclaim under chief conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach and Leif Segerstam. Today, the orchestra is led by the British conductor Michael Francis, who also serves as the Music Director of the Florida Orchestra and Artistic Director of the Mainly Mozart Festival. Since 2017, Stefan Starzer and Eduardo Rolandelli have been creating projects together. With “Carovana Mediterranea & Trio Surmonte:”, they present a poetic concert programme for two guitars. In a chamber music formation, the trio featuring Stefan Starzer, Franz Schuhegger and Andreas Schillinger blends influences from bossa nova, blues, ballads and jazz into a charming and distinctive sound. The concert takes place at 9:00 pm in the knights’ hall of Welsperg Castle. Free concert shuttle from the tourist office in Welsberg at 8:30 pm and 8:45 pm. Concert price: 10 €.
