Together with Lanz Active, we discover the impressive mountain landscape around Toblach. The starting point is Kandellen, from where we hike via the Wildbachhütte up to the Bonnerhütte at 2,340 m. The trail leads through striking natural and cultural landscapes at the foot of Mount Pfannhorn, passing former torrent gullies that are now secured by protective structures. At the top, a well-deserved lunch break awaits us with a magnificent view over the Puster Valley and the Dolomites. A varied tour combining nature, movement, and fascinating insights into the Alpine world. Depending on the tour, the hikes are suitable both for experienced hikers and for families and beginners. We experience a varied and scenic hike through the Antholz valley. We take the bus to Lake Antholz (1.640 m) and start our hike there. On hiking trail no. 1 we reach Wöhrer cabin (1.660 m; not managed) and from there continue on to Teufelsplatz. Along the left valley side we hike leisurely, gradually descending until we reach Antholz Mittertal (1.440 mk). Afterwards we follow the Müllerkoflweg (no. 1) to Burgegger Mill (1.225 m) and continue downstream to Antholz Niedertal (1.100 m). From there we return by bus to our starting point. Ride the chairlift up to the Haunold/Baranci. From there we go in search of the giant Haunold and can explore his kingdom at various stations. The hike of about 5,5 km continues across the Schmiedelwiesen to the Wildbad and its various water sources. In the tranquillity of nature we learn many secrets of the forest as well as various forms of relaxation such as walking barefoot, treading water and relaxation exercises. Every Friday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, the farm oven at Stacherhof is fired up, offering an authentic experience of traditional bread baking. In the traditional wood-fired oven, real farmhouse bread is made, while the entire process from grain to flour and from flour to the finished loaf is demonstrated. Step by step, traditional recipes, milling, dough preparation and baking are explained – all carried out with great care and passion. After baking, the experience continues with a short farm tour, where the animals are introduced and insights into everyday farm life are provided. Afterwards, participants are invited to enjoy a tasting of freshly baked bread along with selected specialties from the farm shop. The course takes place with a minimum of 5 participants. At the Kids Fun Camp, children enjoy a day full of action and fun. With dirtboards, grass skis and bikes, they explore exciting tracks, while the sports trampoline, giant airbag and tubing park ensure endless excitement. Every Tuesday and Friday, children have the opportunity to ride a pony. Each ride lasts about 10 minutes and costs €15. No registration is required. The meeting point and starting location are at the Rotwandwiesenhütte hut. The pony rides are organized by the Unterlanerhof riding stable. The activity is cancelled in case of bad weather.

Try out the biathlon feeling, with short introduction and shooting with the smallbore rifle. Anyone can join, with or without skis (children from 12 years).

Kids & Bike In this action-packed pumptrack session, kids learn how to ride their bikes through the pumptrack in a fun and safe way. With targeted exercises, we show how to build speed by pushing and pulling (“pumping”) – without pedaling. Kids improve their balance, coordination, and bike handling skills. Step by step, they get familiar with berms, rollers, and small obstacles – always having fun and progressing at their own pace. Lying on a meadow overlooking the village and the entire valley, close to the forest towards Pian di Maia, is a small, simple wooden building. The building at first glance appears very modest, but stands proud and aware of its incredible significance and history. Between those planks, in fact, the famous Bohemian composer Gustav Mahler, accompanied by his beloved Alma, between the summers of 1908 and 1910, found peace and inspiration to compose some of his most beautiful and important symphonies, among them 'Das Lied von der Erde' (The Song of the Earth). After careful restoration, the composition house at the Trenkerhof finally reopens its doors to all those who want to breathe in the history and atmosphere of the Belle Epoque. During the summer months of July and August, every Wednesday and every Friday from 3 to 5 p.m., in collaboration with the Santer Family, owner of the cultural asset, every visitor will have the chance to step back in time and breathe in the magic of those places and the surrounding nature. They will be welcomed by a very special hostess... Alma, the composer's beloved companion until her death in 1911, herself an eclectic and important figure in the history of world culture, who will make the visit even more special with stories and anecdotes. Gustav Mahler Music Weeks Toblach 2026 The 45th Gustav Mahler Music Weeks will take place in Toblach from 11 July to 5 September 2026 under the theme “The Beginning.” Alongside long-standing Artistic Director Josef Lanz, Dirk Kaftan will shape the festival programme for the first time. Highlights include concerts by the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, and the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento, as well as performances by promising young international artists. The programme is complemented by lectures, a symposium, the traditional hike to Gustav Mahler’s composing hut, and special encounters with guests such as Massimo Cacciari and Reinhold Messner. Gustav Mahler’s Seventh Symphony is like a musical journey from dusk into the bright light of day. A sombre call from the tenor horn and a restless march open the work, leading to the first of two mysterious 'Nachtmusiken'. A ghostly scherzo flickers in between, before the symphony culminates in a brilliant finale. The German State Philharmonic of Rhineland-Palatinate performs, having gained international acclaim under chief conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach and Leif Segerstam. Today, the orchestra is led by the British conductor Michael Francis, who also serves as the Music Director of the Florida Orchestra and Artistic Director of the Mainly Mozart Festival. Since 2017, Stefan Starzer and Eduardo Rolandelli have been creating projects together. With “Carovana Mediterranea & Trio Surmonte:”, they present a poetic concert programme for two guitars. In a chamber music formation, the trio featuring Stefan Starzer, Franz Schuhegger and Andreas Schillinger blends influences from bossa nova, blues, ballads and jazz into a charming and distinctive sound. The concert takes place at 9:00 pm in the knights’ hall of Welsperg Castle. Free concert shuttle from the tourist office in Welsberg at 8:30 pm and 8:45 pm. Concert price: 10 €.
